Gathering Wool – It’s SO much FUN!

A few weeks ago I received a phone call from a friend who was summering in Maine. She excitedly told me that she had run across a knitting/weaving store that was closing and everything was marked down! Well, this wonderful friend is NOT a knitter or felter, but she called me anyway….God bless her!
As she walked through the store she recited the different colors of yarn, the weights and read from the labels. Here’s what was in the package I received from her this week, and I CANNOT WAIT to get my paws on this yarn and begin to knit and then felt the projects bouncing around in my head!
The huge bolts of heathered colored yarn on each end is a 2 ply wool – perfect for knitting bags, little gift pouches and scarves that can be felted. I can also use this wonderful wool for needle felting patterns onto denim jackets!
The skeins in the middle are the REAL treasures though. Each skein has a variegated color pattern and will be perfect for knitting those Family Classic slippers from Fiber Trends (http://www.fibertrends.com)! The colors are (from l to r) Cadet Blue, Wild Cherries and Mallard Duck. This wool is from Wool 4 All in Charlotte, Maine (www.doneroving.com). Isn’t the name of the website cute?? I’m thrilled about these gifts (the silly girl won’t let me pay her for them) because I cannot get this quality of wool yarn in Texas without ordering it on-line.
Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you, Miss Cindy ;O)
